McGoff Group steps in to deliver £40m development in Glossop

Altrincham-based McGoff Group has stepped in to guarantee the delivery of a previously distressed £40m residential development scheme in Glossop.

Abandoned when Yorkshire developer Ecotek collapsed in late 2023, the project has received a complete overhaul and is now moving forward again, safe in the competent hands of the McGoff Group, a £150m collective of multi-award winning construction businesses.

With a proven track record and an unbreakable ability to deliver, the site on Glossop Road will be transformed into an attractive mix of 156 luxurious two, three and four bedroom new build homes, including 40 affordable homes that will be known as Etherow Grange.

McGoff Construction’s dedicated Housing Division will take the role of principal contractor, delivering the properties under the Group’s highly regarded Villafont Homes brand, with the support of other Group businesses including innovative light gauge steel framing solution Panacea Building Systems and electrical services contractor Edencroft.The collaboration will result in a beautiful development of new homes with a high quality specification, pleasing external aesthetic and carefully considered interior design that serves to enhance the local street scene and add value to Glossop’s increasingly desirable residential appeal.

Work has recently commenced on the development and the first properties have been released for sale with a starting price of £345,000. A show home will be revealed in Spring 2026 and the first properties are expected to complete in summer 2026.
